Health & Safety
At John Desmond Ltd, our policy is to achieve and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for employees, contractors and others potentially affected by the Company’s operations. The promotion and preservation of health and safety, along with the control of pollution and protection of the environment, are of paramount importance to the Company.
John Desmond Limited maintains and strives to improve a good record of safe and responsible activity. This is done through careful planning, organization, monitoring, control and training. By implementing the best trade practices and codes we can assess the potential risks to employees, contractors and others who may be affected by the Company’s activities. Once these assessments have been carried out, we can then make arrangements to eliminate and control any imminent risks.
We aim to achieve this by carrying out frequent health and safety consultations, providing health surveillance as required, seeking competent health and safety advice and, by the introduction and enforcement of procedures to be adhered to in the event of imminent and serious danger, and also by identifying danger areas.
Employees are provided with up to date and reliable information about possible risks to their health and safety and are given advice on the preventative and protective measures they can take to minimize such risks.
The Company requests, requires and expects all persons, in relation to their work or association with the Company, to adhere to our Health and Safety policy and to actively assist in its implementation. This includes all persons who are employed by the Company, contracted to the Company or who are visitors to the premises or to any sites where the Company’s operations are being carried out; or to whom the Company owes a duty of care, or exercises control over.
